Resetting Polycom Phones

Factory Reset your Polycom VVX phone using the MAC address

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. On the “Loading Application” screen press “Cancel.”

(Polycom VVX series - Starting application)

  1. As soon as the “Welcome” message appears, press and hold down “1,” “3,” “5.”
  2. Release them only when seeing the “Enter Password” message appear.

(Polycom VVX series - Reset Settings)

  1. For password use the phone’s MAC address (using CAPS for letter) and press “OK.”
  2. After the restart your phone will be successfully reset (with default password “4, 5, 6” (Ring central is 789)

Pay attention to the difference between entering digits, capital, or lowercase letters. To switch between letters and digits press the input modifier softkey. It initially appears as 1->Aa, indicating you are entering digits. When entering capital letters it displays as A->a1.

Each numeric key on the dial pad has three letters on it. Press it once to enter the 1st letter, twice (without pausing) for the 2nd letter, and three times for the 3rd.

As you type, pause briefly between each character.

For security, the characters you enter are shown only as asterisk symbols (*).

If you made a mistake you can press the Left Arrow key to delete the last character.

  1. Login to the web GUI.
  2. Go to the Settings tab/page.
  3. Navigate to Provisioning Server.
  4. Set Server Type as 'HTTP'.
  5. Fill in Server Address as io/cfg (Do not include apostrophe).
  6. Save the settings.
  7. Reboot the phone.

Polycom Update FW and allow Web GUI

 

Enable ‘Web GUI’ and ‘Upgrade FW’ to work with Zero Touch

Polycom VVX 410 or similar

1) Got to do it from the phone itself. Press ‘Home’

 

 

 

5) Enter Polycom Factory password: 456   (Ring Central is 789)

(after the phone is provisioned with Skytek this will automatically change to 649)

 

2) Scroll down to ‘Web Server Configuration’

 

3) You will find the Web Server: Disabled… Gotta change that to: ‘Enable’.
Web Config Mode: Change to: ‘HTTP/HTTPS’

4) Press Back and ‘Save Config’

That’s it! Logging in via web browsers is now enabled.

----------------------------- Upgrade FW ---------------------

1) Log in to the phone via IP

2) Check the firmware of the phone.

 

 

 

3) Install it. It will take a while… Wait it out…

When it’s done the phone will be back up.
